The final performance ever at the New York State Fair grandstand was a perfectly executed liberal demolition Saturday afternoon. Governor Andrew Cuomo threw the switch to start the process of setting off explosives that brought down the aging grandstand in less than a minute.</p>

Memories of years of Super Dirt Week at the facility were be on the minds of hundreds of racing fans in attendance during Saturday's implosion.</p>

Dirt racing at the State Fairgrounds has a special appeal to it, most notably its rare mile long racetrack, but alas another race track bites the dust in the name of progress.</p>
